Job Summary

The Animal Experimentation Scientist is responsible for executing in vivo studies to support drug discovery and development programs. This role requires hands-on expertise in animal handling, experimental procedures, and data collection to ensure the reliable evaluation of drug candidates. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.

Key Responsibilities

In Vivo Study Execution

  • Perform routine animal experiments including but not limited to compound administration (oral gavage, injection), blood collection, tissue harvesting, and animal care.
  • Complete in vivo efficacy studies designed by team leads according to established timelines and dosages.
  • Ensure accuracy and reproducibility of experimental operations to maintain data reliability.
  • Maintain and provide experimental animals required for research. Duties include but are not limited to animal management, designing breeding paths, in vitro fertilization and propagation, and germplasm preservation.
  • Monitor and record animal health status and experimental observations systematically.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Document experimental procedures and results in a timely manner following laboratory standards.
  • Prepare experimental reports and regularly present findings to team members and management.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all experimental data.

Collaboration & Support

  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments to support comprehensive drug evaluation.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of animal models for disease research.
  • Ensure all activities comply with animal welfare regulations and laboratory safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • College degree or above in Zoology, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in animal experimentation within pharmaceutical companies or research institutions.
  • Proficiency in fundamental animal techniques including dosing, blood collection, and tissue sampling.
  • Experience with animal models for immunology or neurodegenerative diseases is preferred.
