About the Role

Pharmacology director will be responsible for driving projects from early target discovery through to IND submission and supporting the translational research for related clinical stage projects. This role will possess a deep scientific background in CNS diseases, a proven track record of leading successful drug discovery programs, and exceptional team leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of in vitro and in vivo pharmacology strategies to validate novel targets, screen and optimize lead molecules, and elucidate mechanisms of action.
  • Oversee and direct the preparation of the pharmacology sections for IND applications, ensuring all data packages are robust, compliant, and submission-ready.
  • Drive the establishment and validation of innovative and physiologically relevant in vitro and in vivo models for CNS disorders (e.g., neurodegenerative, neuropsychiatric, neuroinflammatory diseases).
  • Ensure the generation of high-quality, reproducible data to establish strong PK/PD relationships and proof-of-concept for drug candidates.
  • Stay at the forefront of CNS research, incorporating new scientific insights and technological advancements into the R&D strategy.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Pharmacology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field with 8-10+ years of relevant post-doctoral experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of leading CNS drug discovery projects from target identification through to IND submission.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in designing, establishing, and interpreting a wide range of in vitro and in vivo pharmacological models for CNS diseases.
  • Proven experience in managing and overseeing studies at CROs, including a strong understanding of contract negotiation, project management, and quality control.
